General Admission Requirements
Applicants who meet the following General Admission requirements are eligible for program admission subject to the individual program entry requirements detailed in section (3)
* Confirming a minimum of 12 years of schooling and graduation from a school recognized by the official education authority in the country of study
** An official score report of Academic IELTS band (5.0), TOEFL IBT (61), or CBT 173 or ITP 500 (ITP taken at AmidEast Institute only), Cambridge (154-161), IESOL/SESOL (B1/B2), Pearson PTE (36-41)
NAPO
All current Grade 12 students (UAE nationals and mother national children) applying for Fall 2025-2026 programs should submit their applications exclusively through the NAPO system.
Steps for Students to apply through NAPO:
- Visit the NAPO system at this link: NAPO Application Portal.
- Refer to detailed instructions for current Grade 12 students at: Details for Current Grade 12 Students.
- Select the category: Current Grade 12 students in the current school year (2024-2025).
- Click on Start a New Application.
Required Documents (All Programs)
- General Secondary School Certificate/Transcript or its equivalent approved by the UAE Ministry of Education.
- Copy of a valid Emirati ID and/ or a passport for both the applicant and the guardian.
- A copy of a valid Resident Identity Card for non-local applicants.
- Birth certificate for non-local applicant.
- Passport-size photograph.
- National Service Certificate for the local male applicants (exemption or postponement).
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Certificate of proficiency in English (where applicable).
- Payment receipt for the non-refundable admission fees.

English Bridging Program
Applicants who do not meet the general English admission requirement (determined by IPT or IELTS or its equivalent) may be admitted to the English bridging program. The placement level and the number of English bridging courses required will be determined by the IPT or IELTS (or its equivalent) test results. Students who are admitted to the bridging program:
- May register for a maximum of two different bridging (prerequisite) courses (zero credit hours) per study period including English language.
- Must pass the required English bridging (prerequisite) course(s) within one year counted from the initial registry.
Upon successful completion of the required English bridging course(s), students are eligible for admission to SMA Bachelor programs (subject to individual program admission requirements)
Students who do not pass the required English bridging course(s) within one year will have their admission cancelled. They will not be able to enter any of our Bachelor programs but may seek admission into an alternative program.
Program Admission Requirements
In addition to the General Admission requirements, applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements to be eligible for admission into each SMA Bachelor program:
Applicants who do not meet the mathematics and/or physics admission requirement may be offered provisional admission into the MT or ME program, subject to successful passing of a zero-credit mathematics and/or physics course within their first year of study.
Students who do not pass a required mathematics and/or physics bridging course within one year of admission will not be able to continue in the MT or ME program. Students who fall into this category may transfer to an alternative program providing they meet the entry requirements for the destination program.
Fees and Charges
1. Tuition fees are charged per credit hour, at AED 1,350 per course credit for all programs. It does not include any extra service costs such as uniform, short training courses, accommodation, meals, books or other resources, or placement costs and trips.
2. Before any discount is applied the total tuition fees for new students starting a Bachelor degree program from Aug 2025 are approximately AED 40,500 annually over a four (4) year study period. Please note that these fees do not include any of the extra costs as mentioned in item (1) and as further detailed below.
3. Bursary and discounts apply as follows:
- Students who are Emiratis from Sharjah Emirate with (Father/guardian monthly income) AED50,000 or less, receive 100% bursary
- Students who are Emiratis from Sharjah Emirate with (Father /guardian monthly income) above AED 50,000, receive 50% bursary
- Students who are Emiratis and from one of the other Emirates of the UAE, receive 30%discount
- Students who are non-Emiratis also receive 30% discount
4. Uniform for all programs of 5,250 AED payable in two instalments. When new set is required, additional charges will be applied.
5. Training Courses applicable for MT and ME programs: between AED 4,000 and AED 6,000(depending on company placement requirements).
6. Accommodation Fees: AED 3,500 per term (there are 3 terms in a year). Annual cost AED 10,500. Accommodation is compulsory for the first one year and can be applied for the subsequent terms.
7. Meals Costs: AED 4,500 per term (there are 3 terms in a year). The annual cost AED 13,500.
8. Books and resources costs are charged as per actuals.
9. SMA aims to absorb all placement and trip costs. However, in some cases the student will have to bear such costs as per actuals.
10. Payment procedures
- Admission fees: AED 660 which is non-refundable.
- Advance Payment: AED 5,000 which is to be deducted later from the fees after registration.
- Security deposit: AED 1,500 AED to be paid on registration for one time only.
11. Graduation fees: AED 1,000 (to be paid in last year)
12. Extra services (attestations & seals): AED200
13. Our payment plan is: 60% -20%-20%
