To establish a nationally and internationally recognized maritime hub producing skilled and competent graduates and professionals by delivering best-in-class maritime education, research and training.
Mission
To provide a flexible, modular, and nurturing learning environment to provide maritime industry knowledge, skills and continuous professional development for students, graduates, and professionals.
Goals
1. Introduce and develop educational programs of the highest standards in the field of maritime science and technology to achieve institutional excellence.
2. Support and develop the maritime transport sector in the United Arab Emirates and prepare qualified cadres in various maritime fields in line with contemporary scientific developments and professional practices.
3. Support maritime scholarly and research activities and instill a culture of innovation and competitiveness in the field of maritime science and technology.
4. Establish scientific links and connections and foster exchange of expertise and technical and cultural information with local and international entities.
Our Mandate
1. Establish policies, strategies, and plans to develop educational and training programs and scientific research in the fields of science, technology, and maritime transport.
2. Develop and offer educational, training, and vocational programs in line with the requirements of the regulatory bodies and relevant stakeholders.
3. Offer vocational training programs in the field of maritime science and technology.
4. Produce scientific research and initiatives in science, technology, and maritime transport in partnership with specialized national and international institutions.
5. Organize and participate in exhibitions, conferences, and scientific and cultural activities related to science, technology, and maritime transport.
6. Establish strategic partnerships and cooperation agreements with local and international educational institutes and relevant organizations in the fields of science, technology, and maritime transport.
7. Promote SMA to be a scientific, cultural, national, Arab, and international hub for science, technology, and maritime transport.
8. Prepare and qualify academic cadres in the field of science, technology, and maritime transport.
9. Develop a solid infrastructure for supporting research, education, training, and community awareness in accordance with best national and international practices.
