Ahmed Ismail is the Head of the Vocational Training and a marine faculty member at the Maritime Transport Department at Sharjah Maritime Academy, his prior experience includes 12 years of foreign going international sailing onboard specializing in as safety, navigating officer along with liquid cargo operation officer, has successfully served on a variety of ships, including very large crude carriers VLCC and Gas Carriers LPG, Ahmed achieved his deck navigation master certificate of competency class I C.O.C and has a successful 4 years’ experience as a marine instructor on special purpose training vessel where he specializes in navigation, ship operations, and safety training before proceeding towards maritime education and training, Ahmed Ismail before joining Sharjah Maritime Academy has over 20 years of maritime education experience while during that time took roles of head of maritime education office and examination center, also took role written and oral examiner of Certificate of Competency, including liquid cargo operations simulator marine instructor.
He is passionate about developing the next generation of seafarers, offering a hands-on approach to learning that integrates real-world experience with academic knowledge. In addition to his instructional role, he actively participates in curriculum development and quality assurance within maritime education programs.
Ahmed Ismail received his master’s degree from the World Maritime University (WMU), Malmo, SWEDEN, an institution under the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a United Nations specialized agency. At WMU Ahmed Ismail specialized in Maritime Safety and Environmental Administration where he received marine related safety and environmental issues and risks that contributed to maritime incidents and pollution.
