Welcome to the Sharjah Maritime Academy, we express our utmost thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, President of the Academy, for his continuous pefforts towards establishing this great scientific establishment, which provides many opportunities and distinguished education for all students. This achievement was the manifest of His Highness belief in the maritime education sector role in the process of comprehensive and sustainable development.

Dear partners, we congratulate you all on this great scientific academy, which will contribute to strengthening the position of Sharjah as a global maritime center for education and training, research and development, and innovation.

We are all aware that possessing advanced scientific, knowledge capabilities and qualified national cadres in the field of maritime transport, will enhance the opportunities for the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates. To achieve global leadership and competitiveness

That is the reason of His Highness instructions to start developing a number of academic, professional, and training programs, of which we have started to offer three of them now, which are: the Bachelor of Maritime Transport, the Bachelor of Marine Engineering, and the Bachelor of Maritime Logistics and Supply Chains. The Academy will also launch many academic, professional, and training programs in accordance with its Board of Trustees strategy.

In addition, His Highness, the President of the Academy, directed to focus on scientific research, innovation and development, in cooperation with distinguished local and international maritime institutions for the SMA to be an international center of excellence in maritime education and training.

SMA has taken upon itself working towards creating a scientific and practical environment for students, and providing the capabilities that qualify them to reach the highest standards of quality in the field of maritime transport.

The academy includes the latest international training methods and equipment such as simulators, devices and programs in all the maritime transport aspects, in addition to professionals with long experience.

The academy is also accredited by the Academic Accreditation Commission (CAA), the National Qualifications Center (NQC), and operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and in full cooperation with the UAE Maritime Authority.
