Elavarasi Sasikumar is an Assistant Professor in the Marine Engineering Technology Department at the Sharjah Maritime Academy. She has a rich academic background, having previously engaged in postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, which is recognized as a national research central university in India, endorsed by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Government of India.

Dr. Ela earned her PhD from the Electronics Engineering Department at Pondicherry Central University, where her doctoral thesis focused on the "Design and Development of CPW-Fed SRR Loaded Fractal Metamaterial Antenna for Multiband Applications”. Her dissertation garnered recognition, as she received the Best Doctoral Thesis Award at the Academics Bangkok Awards in 2019, presented by Kasetsart University, Thailand, which is also accredited by the All-India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi.

In addition to her research accomplishments, Dr. Ela has actively participated in international scientific conferences, where she has presented her findings and has been awarded three best paper awards. She has also published her work in globally indexed scientific journals. Apart from her research, she has spent Six years teaching undergraduate Engineering courses in Electronics and Communication Engineering, contributing to the education of the next generation of engineers.
