Nathan Kawansson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Maritime Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Sharjah Maritime Academy. His academic experience includes over a decade of teaching in student cantered college environment offering outstanding teaching and cross-cultural team management, experience in creating strategic alliances with community and organization leaders to support key business initiatives, multidisciplinary project management achieving multiple academic accreditation and ensuring program compliance with internal policies and external regulations, curriculum development and system wide assessments, utilizing modern educational technologies to deliver various courses both online and in the classroom. Prior joining academia, Nathan worked as production manager, procurement manager, logistics and Supplier coordinator. As a business consultant, he has implemented multiple Manufacturing Systems in variety production lines utilizing production efficiency and effectiveness. Among high profile institutions and companies that he has associated with are Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE, General Motors Canada, Ericsson Sweden, F.L.Smith Denmark & Danish Chamber of Commerce, Accenture Sweden, Chalmers University Sweden, Glasgow University UK, University of Technology Iraq, United Nations (UNHCR) Turkey.
Dr. Kawansson received his Doctorate from Polish Academy of Economy and Science in 2015, a master’s degree in engineering and management from Denmark Technical University in 2002, a Master’s degree in international relations from Glasgow University in 2006 and a Harvard Graduate School certificate in Teaching for Understanding in 2009.
