The Sharjah Maritime Academy Library is located at the heart of the academic building. SMA Library aims to support academic and research journey towards achieving to become an Internationally top ranked Maritime Institute.

- Databases
1- ABI Inform Collection - ProQuest
The ABI/INFORM Collection is composed of ABI/INFORM Global, ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry, and ABI/INFORM Dateline. The collection features thousands of full-text journals, dissertations, working papers, and key business and economics periodicals such as The Economist and Sloan Management Review. It also contains company/country/industry-focused reports, and major news sources like the Wall Street Journal. Its international coverage gives researchers a complete picture of companies and business trends around the world.

eBook Central covers more than 2.2 million eBooks from 1,300+ leading publishers covering all academic disciplines. E-book Central provides access to millions of titles from thousands of publishers, including some notable names like Allen & Unwin, Wiley, Pearson and Oxford University Press.

3- IMO – VEGA
The IMO-Vega Database is a powerful database which includes historical data and benefits from a sophisticated search function. It includes up-to-date texts of core IMO requirements (including IMDG Code, SOLAS, MARPOL and IAMSAR Manual) as well as pollution prevention and safety-related documents in English.

4- Clarkson - Shipping Intelligence Network
Clarkson - Shipping Intelligence Network provides access to the comprehensive range of data collected and published by Clarksons Research, including leading commercial data and analysis covering market supply and demand, earnings, values and data around trade flows and macro-economic developments.

5- Compendex - Engineering Village
Compendex - Engineering Village is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of scientific and technical engineering research available, covering all engineering disciplines. Compendex- Engineering Village covers, 4,000+scholarly journals, 200+ trade magazines, 10.3M+ papers from 150,000+conference proceedings, 300,000+ dissertations, 39,000+ books, 290,000+ book chapters, 159 book series, 220,000+ standards records, 1.2M+ preprint records (all open access).

6- IEEE Xplore All-Society Periodicals Package (ASPP)
The IEEE Xplore – ASPP provides access to the IEEE core collection of engineering, electronics, and computer science periodicals. With peer-reviewed publications concentrating on theoretical and experimental papers, as well as practical applications in research, design, and specification.
ScienceDirect- Elsevier's premier platform of peer-reviewed scholarly literature, advance research and scholarship with the world's leading database of peer-reviewed, full-text, scientific, technical and health literature. Services
- Circulation Services
Borrowing privileges of library materials extends to all SMA’s students, faculty, and staff members. The circulation desk handles all borrowing, reserving, returning of books, and recalling borrowed material. However, the users can be able to renew, request online by login through office 365 credentials.
Library Single Search/ Online Public Access Catalogue tool that allows you to find and access information about a wide range of print and electronic resources all from a single search point. The content search includes library catalogue books, e-journals, e-books, open access resources, and more all from one interface.
- Current Awareness Service
Library Current Awareness Service (CAS) are designed to keep users informed about the latest developments, resources, and information in specific fields of interest. These services often provided by the library aim to keep them updated with new publications, research findings, and relevant industry updates within their specific fields.
- Selective Dissemination of Information
Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) is a personalized alert service provided to individuals and subject specialists on their specific area of interests.
- Reference Services
The information desk offers assistance for the use of locating information, conducting research, and utilizing library resources effectively. The approaches to reference desk could be in person, by phone, or by e-mail.
- Research Assistance
Faculty members and students, those who are involving in research projects and scholarly activities can approach to the library for in-depth research assistance for selecting the right database, search strategies, locating right materials etc...
- Recommend a Purchase
All SMA Faculty, Staff and Students may suggest books, audio/visual material, magazine, journal, e-journal or online database to the library which are not available in our current collections. Kindly fill in the Recommend a Purchase Form to suggest a resource.
- Orientation/ Trainings
Orientation is given in the beginning of every semester to all the faculty members, students and staff about Library Resources, Policy and Procedures, Services and Facilities. The One-on-one or classroom orientation or group orientation will be given to user community on request basis as well. The request can be raised through Library Instruction form.
Library Facilities
- Computer Section
The computer section in the library is connected to internet with general applications to work/browse academic resources by all the stakeholders of SMA.
- Wireless Networking
The high speed of Wireless Network is available in the library premises to all the faculty members, students, and staff to access their educational and library resources
- Reprographic Services
The photocopy, printing and scanning facilities are available in the library to all the students and they can send email to library@sma.ac.ae for printing services.
