About Course:

This course covers the requirements of the STCW Convention and Code. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in personal survival techniques to be able to survive at sea in the event of abandoning.

Course Type:

Mandatory Course

Course Objectives:

This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers for familiarization, basic safety training and instruction in accordance with Section A-VI/1-1 of STCW Code.

Course Information:

• Don a lifejacket,

• Don immersion suit.

• Safety jump from a height into the water,

• Right an inverted life raft while wearing a lifejacket.

• Swim while wearing a lifejacket.

• Board a survival craft from ship and water while wearing a lifejacket.

• Actions to enhance chance of survival.

• Lift by Helicopter sling.

• Operate distress signaling and radio equipment.

Course Assessment Method:

• Written Exam

• Practical Exam

Delivery Method:

The course training will be a blend of:

• Classroom lectures.

• Practical Training.
