About Course:
This course covers the requirements of the STCW Convention and Code. On meeting the minimum standard of competence for familiarization and awareness of ship security, as well as protective duties set out in Ship Security Plan (SSP).

Course Objectives:
This course aims to provide knowledge, understanding and proficiency corresponding to the minimum standards of competence required for familiarization and awareness of ship security, as well as protective duties set out in Ship Security Plan (SSP), as defined in Section A-VI/6, paragraphs 1 to 4 and 6 to 8, and detailed in Tables A-VI/6-1 and A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Code.
Course Information:
• Knowing the meaning and requirements of the different protection levels
• Recognizing and detecting dangerous and harmful substances and objects
• Recognizing potential threats without distinction as to race, culture, gender, language,
ethnicity, etc.
• Knowing emergency procedures and contingency plans
• Operating security equipment effectively.
